With President overseas talking with the Muslim world, I wanted to know more about his views on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. This link provides an essay written by Noam Chomsky discussing this topic. He discusses actions taken and not taken by Obama and the United States government, why things were not discussed, and the implications of these actions.
I'd love to read what people think about this...
ok it's Iraq but it's interesting

Here is a link to a blog put up by Morgan on a different Blog. There are a
number of entries that tie more to your topic than theirs. Enjoy.

So I read the article and Annie was right it is very thought provoking. The fact that the U.S. Isreal and three others voted against a U.N. resolution of the right of the Palestinian to self determination is indeed troubling. I would be interested to see the rest of the languge in the resolution because as far as I know the U.S. does recognize the right of the Palestinians to autonomy, soverignty, and self determination in a two-state solution with Israel. At the same time,I disagree with Chomsky for condeming the U.S. and others for not recgognizing the governement of a Palestinian state as long as it is controlled by the terrorist organization Hamas and agree with President Obama, the EU and the UN that Hamas must renounce violence and acknowledge Israel's right to exist in order for the group to be part of any international peace process.
